When updating or replacing devices, you can transfer Eagle's activation license from your old device to a new device without using additional authorized device slots. This article will guide you on how to properly reclaim and reuse your license.

Removing Activation Status from Old Device (Old Device Still Accessible)

Open Eagle software on your old device
Click the menu in the top-left corner of the software
Select and click the "Remove Activation Status..." option
After restarting the software, you will see the prompt "Software trial has expired," indicating that the activation status has been successfully removed

Activating on New Device and Reclaiming License

Install and launch Eagle software on your new device
Use the same activation information as the old device to activate the software
If you successfully reach the welcome page, click the menu in the top-left corner of the software, find and click the "Manage Activated Devices" option
In the activated devices list, find your old device, click the "Remove" icon on its right side, then click the "Remove Device" button
If you encounter a prompt about exceeding the license key binding limit during activation, click the "Remove Other Device Bindings" option in that prompt
Following the operation in step 4 above, "Remove" the old device to free up the license slot for the new device

Important Notes

Eagle license keys are only used for software activation and do not provide data backup or cloud storage functionality
If your library is stored on your local computer, you must back up and transfer your library before switching devices to ensure you can continue using your organized materials on the new device
