Eagle is a local application software, and all material content is saved in the resource library on the local hard drive. Eagle does not have cloud sync functionality, and the product serial number is only used for software activation. If you need to use your existing resource library on a new computer, please follow the steps below.

Resource Library Migration Preparation

Before migration, please first back up the resource library on your old computer, and pay attention to the following points:

Compress the resource library into zip format: The resource library contains multi-level structures and numerous files, ensuring all files are completely scanned before transfer to avoid transfer interruption
Use copy and paste method for backup: This can prevent data corruption caused by system or hard drive failures during data transfer
Confirm after migration: After the resource library is successfully transferred to the new device, confirm everything is correct before deleting the resource library on the old device

Suggestions to Speed Up Migration

For large resource libraries, the following methods can help accelerate the migration process:

Improve hardware performance: Using SSD drives instead of HDD drives can significantly improve read/write speeds
Adjust compression settings: When packaging the resource library, selecting "Store" compression level (packaging only without compression) can save significant compression time

External Hard Drive Usage Considerations

If you choose to save your resource library on an external hard drive, please pay attention to hard drive format compatibility issues between different systems:

Setting Up Eagle on New Device

Download and install Eagle software on the new device
Activate the software after installation (product serial number can be used on multiple devices without limitation)
Through the menu "Library" > "Switch Library...", select your resource library folder
Wait for the software to read and load the resource library content
